FIELD: decontaminating seam generators of pressurized-water reactors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes decontamination of steam generator using aqueous solution of ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid, reducer, and leaching agent. Hydrazine and/or formaldehyde is proposed for use as reducer and morpholine, as leaching agent, molar concentration of morphine being chosen to equal that of ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid as a minimum; proportion between hydrazine and/or formaldehyde and ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid is from 1 : 6 to 1 : 1.

EFFECT: enhanced decontamination efficiency, reduced wear of base metal without corrosion inhibitor additive.
