FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: at the first step of the method, the container is treated with an alkaline detergent solution containing a complexing agent which forms a soluble complex with iron ions, a reducing agent and a leaching agent, and at the second step, the detergent solution from the first step, which is in the container, is mixed with an additional complexing agent which forms a complex with iron (III) ions which is stable compared to the complexing agent used at the first step, and an oxidant.
EFFECT: method enables to remove deposits containing magnetite and copper from containers of industrial and electrical installations with negligible loss of the basic metal.
