FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology.
SUBSTANCE: the innovation deals with preventing the rod's curvature during fixation, especially, in case of long tubular bones. The suggested absorbable intramedullar rod for osteosynthesis of long tubular bones has been designed to be hollow, it is supplied with blocking needles for guiding through the rod's absorbable part and with a reinforcing element as an internal stretching device. The mentioned device should be introduced in the rod's cavity being a metal rope supplied with semi-spherical segments in which the surfaces of adjacent segments are designed to be concave in one element and convex in another element. At one end of the rope there is a restricting olive to fix the rope's end in the rod, and at another end - the mechanism for tightening the internal stretching device.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
