FIELD: the invention refers to radiolocation.
SUBSTANCE: the mode of observation over the surface with a multi-channel airborne radar basis in the mode of a real beam with an electronic scanning is in forming a matrix of two-dimensional radio image of the surface in the coordinates distance-azimuth, at that due to quick electronic switching of the beam of the radar the beam is displaced on the azimuth on the value (2n+1) of the part of the width of the diagram of the direction of the antenna with dimensions of 2n+1 elements of quantification and the amplitudes of reflected signals received at each position of the beam are processed at the output of the multi-channel system of receiving elements by way of their summing up with weights calculated beforehand according to a definite method, as a result an amplitude image is formed in the coordinates distance-azimuth with increased accuracy of estimation of the amplitudes in the elements of quantification of the azimuth and correspondingly with increased resolution on azimuth.
EFFECT: the technical result is increasing of resolute capability on the azimuth in the elements of resolution of distance with expansion of the zone of observation by the radar on azimuth and increase of accuracy and quick-action of evaluation of the amplitudes of signals in synthesized elements of resolution of the azimuth.
