METHOD FOR ELIMINATING EYEBROW PTOSIS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61F9/07 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves excising redundant skin and orbicular muscle portion, excising tarso-orbital fascia and removing fat hernias in upper eyelid zone. Horizontal incision is additionally produced with skin and frontal muscle being cut in parietal zone above the eyebrow. Soft tissues are separated downwards as tunnel to make connection with upper eyelid incision. Retinal implant cut out as a strip is introduced into the produced tunnel. Lower transplant edge is attached to the frontal muscle in lower eyebrow edge projection through incision in the upper eyelid. The eyebrow is moved upwards by pulling upper retinal transplant edge and attached to periosteum in required position in parietal zone. Sutures are placed on wound edges on upper eyelid and in parietal zone. Cut-out retinal transplant strip length is equal to tunnel length and its width mates ½ of eyebrow length or distance from the highest point on the eyebrow to its external boundary.

EFFECT: high reliability in fixing eyebrow in lifted position; reduced risk of traumatic complications.
