FIELD: medicine; plastic surgery.
SUBSTANCE: excision of excess skin above the eyebrow in the scalp of the frontoparietal region is performed. The highest point of the eyebrow A and, moving 1 cm medially from it, point A1 are marked. Next, two parallel vertical lines are drawn upward through these points and, stepping back 1.5 cm from the hair growth line, point A2 is marked on a straight line passing through point A1. Then a straight line B is marked connecting point A2 and the inner edge of the eyebrow, after which line B is drawn through the outer edge of the eyebrow, parallel to line B, then a zigzag incision is made between lines B and C in the area of the bald patch in the scalp. Next, the skin is peeled off to the width of the access according to the markings and the frontal muscle is cut vertically along the fibers to the length of the peeled skin, stepping back 2/3 of the distance from the medial edge of the incision. Additionally, the tissue is peeled down along the periosteum to the line connecting the medial border of the incision and the beginning of the head of the eyebrow 2 cm posteriorly along the entire length of the access; under tension, the peeled tissue is moved upward along with the eyebrow and fixed by applying horizontal sutures to the frontal muscle. Excess skin is excised, the upper and lower edges of the incision are connected and the muscle is fixed to the periosteum by applying horizontal sutures, the lateral sections of the muscle are placed posteriorly and tucked into the detached pocket, the skin is sutured with a wraparound suture.
EFFECT: method is low-traumatic, not difficult to perform, allows to eliminate complications if the surgical technique is performed accurately, and does not involve the use of special tools and equipment; allows to move the lowered eyebrow to the upper position and achieve stable retention of it in a high position, significantly increase the efficiency of the operation, the quality of life of patients and reduce the time of postoperative rehabilitation.
