FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves taking placing leg in hyperextension position and putting roller under knee. Patella is moved outwards in valgus and normal shinbone position in knee joint. Its projecting outer edge is lifted upward or the patella is moved inward in cases of shinbone taking varus position in knee joint. Its projecting inner edge is lifted upward. Step and free space arises under displaced patella edge into which needle tip is introduced in atraumatic way without articulation cartilage being injured. The needle is turned in parallel to articulation surface of the displaced patella edge and in perpendicular to extremity axis. The patella is returned in normal position and the needle is concurrently moved into the joint.
EFFECT: reduced risk of cartilage surface injuries occurring in the joint.
