FIELD: reactors for industrial production of methylhydroxyalkyl cellulose.

SUBSTANCE: proposed reactor is used for industrial production of methylhydroxyalkyl cellulose through interaction of cellulose with hydroxide of alkaline metal followed by interaction with alkyl halide and hydroxyalkylation agent. Reactor is cylindrical in shape and is provided with inlet and outlet at L/D ratio lesser than 2.5. Reactor is provided with inlet and outlet valves fitted at inlet and outlet, thus ensuring complete loading and unloading of reactor. Reactor has compulsory mixer with mixing unit, with at least one horizontal shaft located on both sides; shaft geometry ensures removal of sticking product from butt surfaces of reactor. Reactor is equipped with vibration rectifiers which are fitted to geometry of compulsory mixer equipped with shafts.

EFFECT: enhanced clear solubility of methlyhydroxyalkyl cellulose.
