FIELD: refractories.
SUBSTANCE: mullite-corundum refractory material is designed for lining of air heaters, hot blast air ducts of blast furnaces, and other heat assemblies. Material is prepared from mass containing, wt %: andalusite 35.5-40.0, bauxite 47-48, finely dispersed alumina 9-11, finely dispersed refractory clay 4.0-5.5, and orthophosphoric acid above 100%. Andalusite has following fractional composition: 42-45% fraction 0-1 mm and 55-58% fraction below 160 μm. Supplementary introduction of finely dispersed refractory clay in indicated quantities and use of orthophosphoric acid as binder provides high degree of mullitization of material during firing at temperature below 1600°C.
EFFECT: stabilized volume at high temperatures, reduced porosity, and increased mechanical strength and loading-caused deformation temperature.
