FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, may be used in metallurgical processes for cast iron and steel melting processes.
SUBSTANCE: flux contains 30-60% of carbon, 5-30% of calcium oxide, 25-65% of sodium fluoride, aluminum fluoride, calcium fluoride and magnesium fluoride, and 0.5-5% of admixtures including aluminum, iron, and silicon oxides. Said elements are used as part of useful components free of admixtures in the following ratio: sodium: aluminum: calcium: magnesium ratio of (5-15):(1-4):(5-20):(0.1-1.0).
EFFECT: increased refining capacity of metallurgical slag owing to increased content of low-melting temperature and highly-active components in flux composition and optimized ratio of said components.
