FIELD: surfacing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric arc mechanized surfacing under flux, in particular to fluxes designed for surfacing steels. The flux consists of slag obtained by silicomanganese production and contains components in the following ratio, wt.%: silicon dioxide is 19-48, aluminum oxide is 3-28, calcium oxide is 10-29, calcium fluoride is 0.1-1.7, magnesium oxide is 0.7-9.8, manganese oxide is 2-19, iron oxide is 0.1-2.5, carbon is 0.02-0.8, titanium oxide is 0.15-0.6, chromium oxide is 0.01-0.5, sulfur is no more than 0.40, phosphorus is no more than 0.40.
EFFECT: flux provides reducing the waste of alloying elements during surfacing by increasing the fluidity and coating properties of the slag formed from the flux, reducing the contamination of steel with non-metallic oxide inclusions by reducing the oxidation of the slag system, increasing the hardness and increasing the wear resistance of the surfaced metal layer.
