FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: additional pulses of welding current following with frequency of at least 50Hz are applied to current in interpulse time. Amplitude and duration of additional pulses are set equal to the rated value of welding current for each diameter of electrode and its specific brand. Duration of main current pulses is generated as series of additional pulses with repetition rate within the range of 200-130 Hz and changed in inverse proportion of deviation in arc mean voltage from the preset value. Duration of additional pulses in series is increased up to maximum value, and duration of series of additional pulses is increased up to value ensuring the preset quantity of deposited metal. Duration of additional pulses within main interpulse interval is reduced up to minimum permitted value.
EFFECT: improved formation of fill and cap welds and expanded settings for the mode parameters and their change in welding process due to insignificant change in arc length.
