FIELD: tire industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tire building drum with turn up mechanism. Said drum includes central shaft, two ring segments arranged around shaft and spaced relative to each other to provide support for bead cores. Drum for building tires is provided with set of levers from both outer sides of ring segments passing in axial direction. Levers are provided with first turn up device on first free end orientated to ring segment which is essentially turn-up roller, and on opposite second end they are hinge connected to axially shifted lever support. At least near first ring. Part of levers has means to support tire element. Said support means in initial position from circumferential support surface of tire elements. Drum is provided additionally with means to shift lever supports to move second ends of both sets of levers in axial direction towards each other. Levers are made for tilting in radial planes form initial position into inclined position to provide travel of first ends in axial and radial directions at simultaneous pressing up of part of tire elements arranged outside from ring segments to widened part of tire elements arranged inside ring segments. Support means have one or several support rollers provided with support surface for tire element, support roller being fitted on lever for rotation.

EFFECT: simplified design of turn up mechanism.
