FIELD: data transmission, in particular, methods for realizing deviation of frequency and frame synchronization in a communication system with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing.
SUBSTANCE: estimation of frequency deviation and frame synchronization are realized in receiver in OFDM-system, on basis of a metric, which indicates determined power of pilot-signal. The metric may be determined on basis of mutual correlation between two received symbols, received in two periods of OFDM-symbol. To estimate deviation of frequency, metric value is computed for each one of multiple supposed frequency deviations. Supposed frequency deviation for metric with largest value is provided as estimated frequency deviation. For frame synchronization, correlation value is derived for each period of OFDM-symbol by means of correlation of values of metric, received for NC (for example, the last ones) periods of OFDM-symbol, with NC expected values. Expected values are computed in such a way, which is compatible with how the metric values are computed. Peak detection is performed on basis of correlation values, produced for different periods of OFDM-symbol, to determine frame synchronization.
EFFECT: increased precision when finding beginning of each frame under conditions of low signal to noise ratio.
