FIELD: measuring techniques.

SUBSTANCE: method for checking validity of a calibrated flow coefficient of a flow meter is based on determination of the initial bending resistance of the flow tube, the current bending resistance of the flow tube and comparison of the initial bending resistance with the current one, the result of which determines the mode of the calibration error. The calibrated flow coefficient is corrected in accordance with the indicated calibration error mode. The current bending resistance is determined by solving for a model with one or more degrees of freedom. When solving for a model with one degree of freedom, the current bending resistance is determined depending on the given force applied to the flow tube and the resultant deformation of the flow tube. Alternatively, the transfer function of the frequency response of the transmission profile can be determined.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining flow.
