FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for automatic adjustment of internal filtration used in determining stiffness, for verification of a flow meter (5) and an electronic meter (20) for automatic adjustment of internal filtration. The method contains the following steps: receiving an oscillatory response from the flow meter (5), wherein the oscillatory response contains a response to the oscillation of the flow meter (5) essentially at a resonant frequency; measuring at least one gain attenuation variable; measuring the first slope coefficient of one of the gain attenuation variables for the first period of time; measuring the second slope coefficient of the same one of the gain attenuation variables for the second period of time; determining the presence of a trend if the first and second slope coefficients coincide; and determining whether the gain attenuation variable is outside the specified range; and preventing meter verification while there is a trend; adjusting the filter used in calculating stiffness if the gain attenuation variable is beyond the specified range.
EFFECT: elimination of false failures and false passes during the verification of the electronic flow meter.
