FIELD: textiles.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparation and marking out a round specimen, fixation of the specimen and counting the number of folds. The specimen is fixed using two vertical clamps, which are fixed on a supporting surface at 360 mm on the same horizontal line. The projection (Aα) of the furthest folding point from the supporting surface in the plane of symmetry of the specimen, perpendicular to the supporting surface, and the angle of the upper fold (βα), which determines the form of the obtained drapes, are measured. The anisotropy of the capacity of the textile material to form drapes is determined from the change in the folding attributes, depending on the direction (α), of marking out the specimen.
EFFECT: reduced material consumption during testing, as well as approaching test conditions to real conditions for formation of drapes.
