FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises preparing material specimen in the form of circle, fastening it in the holder and determining parametres of horizontal projection of said specimen. Note here that specimen is arranged in the holder representing a semi-sphere with needle secured on the base to vertically move thereon. Note also that specimen diametre-to-semi-sphere diametre ratio makes 4:1, while projection parametre determination comprises calculation of specimen horizontal projection parametres and determining the length of axial lines of projection run through projection center in lengthwise and crosswise directions. Total drapability of material is estimated from relationship between initial specimen area and projection area, while material drapability in lengthwise and crosswise directions is estimated from relationship between lengths of axial lines on projection. Data thus obtained allows estimating anisotropy of material drapability, hence, forecasting cloth quality and selecting proper material for producing the range of clothes.
EFFECT: higher reliability of drapability estimation.
