FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: glass sheet is preliminarily heated approximately up to softening temperature. Then preliminarily heated glass sheet is heated by radio-frequency energy up to molding temperature with simultaneous cooling of glass sheet surface. The stage of simultaneous heating and cooling includes provision of at least one hollow electrode. Using hollow electrode provides supply of radio-frequency energy to glass sheet and at least of at least one air flow through the electrode to at least one external surface of glass sheet. Then glass sheet is abruptly cooled with the purpose of its tempering.
EFFECT: reduces expenses during glass heating with radio-frequency energy and creates method of manufacturing thin tempered glass.
