SUBSTANCE: description is given of the 2,5-dioxoimidazolin-4-yl-methylcarbonyl compound with formula , where X represents a hydrogen atom or a NR⁴ group; Y represents NH or N-methyl; Z¹ and Z² represent an oxygen atom; R¹ represents hydrogen or C₁-C₆alkyl; R² and R³ represent hydrogen; R⁴ represent hydrogen or C₁-C₆alkyl; L represents -CH₂C(O)- or -C(O)CH₂-, or L represents C₂-C₆alkyl, possibly interrupted O, NH, S, SO, SO₂ and C(O), or L represents C₃-C₆cycloalkyl, or L represents a C₃-C₄alkylene chain. The ends of which are linked to the neighbouring ring atoms of carbon in 5-10-member G ring system, forming a ring; G represents a saturated or unsaturated 5-10-member ring system, which can contain at least one ring heteroatom, chosen from nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur. Description is also given, of the method of obtaining them, pharmaceutical mixtures containing them, and their use in therapy. The invented compounds are inhibitors of metalloproteinase MMP12.

EFFECT: compounds are important in treatment of obstructive respiratory tract diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease.
