FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of control of a ferroelectric or electret storage device using passive matrix addressing. The method consists in the following: before and/or after an operating cycle generating an interference, the cycle preceding the interference and/or the cycle following the interference are executed; during the said cycle(s), non-switching and at least some non-zero voltages are applied to the cells located on non-addressable control lines, forming voltage pulses to be applied before and/or after the interference in the cells, by maintaining the potential difference between the non-addressable control lines and the addressable control line equal to or less than two times the coercive voltage, and potentials are selected on the selected data lines and unselected data lines so that the difference between them and the potential of the non-addressable control line would be less than the coercive voltage; and the addressable control line potential is selected so that only addressable cells could receive voltages exceeding the coercive voltage in the direction corresponding to the polarisation state already set in the addressable cells.
EFFECT: minimisation of counter voltages during recording.
