FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to updated separator with a vortex tube and to an improved third stage separator design incorporating updated vortex tube separator. The proposed separator with the vortex tube intended for separate solid particles from the fed material containing gas and solid particles incorporates a cylindrical casing, an axial inlet (to input a mix of gas and solid particles) arranged on one end of the above casing, the above axial inlet being provided with a swirling means, a solid particles outlet on the opposite part of the said casing and a gas cylindrical outlet pipe arranged coaxially on the said casing end. A vortex elongating rod is arranged along, at least, 20% of the cylindrical casing axis length, the said axis running from the outlet tube gas inlet to the cylindrical casing end opposite to the said gas outlet tube. The invention incorporates also the method of separating solid particles from gaseous mixture with the content of solid particles varying from 100 and 500 mg/Nm3 to obtain a gas flow containing no more than 50 mg of solid particles per Nm3.
EFFECT: separator features higher efficiency of separation and minor susceptibility to operation with asymmetric vortex.
