FIELD: metallugy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at application of wear resistant coats on items made out of carbonic and alloyed steel, which operate under abrasive wear. A wear resistant coat is applied on the surface of items by means of electric arc overlaying in protective gas mediums. As an adding material aluminium wire or wire out of aluminium base alloy is used. Overlaying is performed under modes facilitating forming of overlay with aluminium contents of 20-40 mas.%.

EFFECT: increased wear resistance of working surfaces of items at low cost of adding material.
