FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when applying heat-resistant and wear-resistant layers on titanium and titanium alloys operating at high temperatures and in abrasive wear conditions. Electric arc surfacing is performed by nonconsumable electrode in medium of inert protective gases with application of two filler wires of aluminum and zirconium. Deposition mode is selected from the condition of obtaining a weld pad with aluminum content of 5–25 % and zirconium at 3–15 %. Said content of aluminum and zirconium at surfacing provides formation of structure of weld metal on the basis of supersaturated solution of aluminum in titanium and intermetallic phase Ti3Al, doped with zirconium.
EFFECT: alloying with zirconium in the specified limits provides reduction of inclination of the weld metal to formation of cracks that promotes improvement of mechanical and operational properties of the weld metal.
