FIELD: titanium products.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when applying heat-resistant and wear-resistant layers to products made of titanium and titanium alloys operating at elevated temperatures and under abrasive wear conditions. Electric arc surfacing is carried out with a non-consumable electrode in an inert shielding gas environment using two filler wires made of aluminum and niobium. The surfacing mode is selected from the condition of obtaining a deposited layer with an aluminum content in the range of 5-25% and niobium at the level of 5-15%. The specified content of aluminum and niobium during surfacing ensures the formation of the structure of the deposited metal based on a supersaturated solution of aluminum in titanium and the Ti3Al intermetallic phase alloyed with niobium.
EFFECT: alloying with niobium within the specified limits provides an increase in heat resistance and wear resistance of the deposited layer.
