FIELD: data transfer.
SUBSTANCE: method and system for signal exchange is designed for flow commutation in network where random GDR access points are used. To indicate random GDR access points in bit data flow, clocking retrieve data unit contained in clocking retrieve unit is used in order to transfer information on GDR switching points. This information also includes which cutoff groups represent isolated area and which cutoff groups represent remaining area, in case cutoff groups are used in coding. Method of signal exchange can be used for video data transfer using real-time transfer protocol (RTP). Session description protocol (SDP) may be used for data transfer indicating attributes of bit data flows.
EFFECT: effectiveness of switching points transfer under gradual recovery of video data flow in decoding (GDR).
