FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: implant is shaped as open ring with eyelet by ends, thus ring thickness is gradually centre to rim decreased, trapeze-shaped in cross-section. External diameter of ring corresponds to diameter of ciliary furrow or zonular fibres. Gap dimension of open ring is within the range 100-500 microns. Smaller to grater trapeze base ratio is within the range 0.0009-0.006. Implantation technique preliminary pupil dilation combined with two paracentesis. Through one of them there anterior chamber is filled with viscoelastic, and one implant ends is introduced pushing it forward over iris. Through second paracentesis implant is inserted under iris, grasping eyelet by second end. Implant is placed in ciliary furrow or on zonular fibres.
EFFECT: improved nearby vision due to implanted opened ring with trapeze-shaped cross-section within ciliary furrow or zonular fibres.
