FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to method of formation of external characteristic of power supply source for electrical arc welding with melting electrode and may be used in control of electrical arc welding process. Formation of external characteristic of power supply source is carried out on display of control panel in rectangular coordinate system. At first in initial condition the curve is brought to display, which limits maximum values of current and voltage, at least, one curve of average power at the load for static mode of welding is used and therefore curve is formed, which generates dynamic mode of welding. For that purpose instant values of current and voltage are measured at the load and load resistance change is estimated, the one that determines properties of power supply source in the field of slow and fast processes of welding. Required external characteristic of source is obtained by means of displacement in display screen of corresponding obtained curves of average power at the load and curve that reflects dynamic mode of welding, within the limits of preset limitations for maximum and minimum values of current and voltage.

EFFECT: simplification of changing instant values of voltage and current within formation cycle.
