FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes a preliminary deformation of an ingot during several passes with vertical and horizontal rollers when after each pass a transitional square section of wire is obtained by means of changing the gap between the rollers. A final forming of a circular cross section of wire is performed by the scheme "oval-circle". The task is obtained due to a preliminary deformation of an ingot with rollers of oval shape grooves; the said grooves have regulated depth of a cut and a groove radius; at that the transitive cross section of wire has a shape of an arrow-headed square.
EFFECT: expanding of performance capabilities and upgrading quality of wire.
