FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: continuously operated metal vapor laser has glass envelope hermetically sealed at ends with flanges carrying bushings with mirrors. Since heating element and metal tank are inside envelope that protects metal evaporator against variable external fluxes, it becomes possible to use envelope as optics holder.
