DAMPING SPACER FOR BUNDLED PHASE WIRES OF OVERHEAD TRANSMISSION LINES Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC H02G7/12 

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to power industry and may be used as damping spacer for bundled phase wires of overhead transmission lines. Damping spacer is represented with elastic elements (2) with terminal housings (3) rigidly fixed to their ends (8). Bundled phase wires (1) of overhead transmission line are fastened in terminal housing grooves (4) by means of dies (5). Multi-wired steel ropes (lines) are used as traction bars (2). Number of wires varies within 19 pieces. Metal bushings (10) are mounted and fixed on elastic elements (2) in several points (11). Metal bushings (10) are linked with each other by their one end in the centre (13) being the centre of bundled phase line. Bushings (10) are away from terminal housings (3) by small distance l=1÷3 mm and their diameter d_bush is selected being more than elastic elements (2) diameter by Δ=1÷3 mm. Owing to metal bushings (10) rigidly fixed on traction bars (2), the spacer operates as rigid system ensuring preset distance between wires (1) and acts as damper, as elastic traction bars (2) are free to bend. Console element with load at one end is fixed to one of dies (5). Damping spacer ensures effective damping of wire vibration appearing on overhead transmission lines with quite simple design.
