FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic sensor 10 includes comparator elements 11-18 and heating coils 21-24 serving as heating units. Elements 11-14 and 15-18 are interconnected in a bridge pattern to form sensors of X and Y axes respectively. Heating coils 21, 22, 23 and 24 are placed close to elements 11 and 12, elements 13 and 14, elements 15 and 16 and elements 17 and 18 respectively. Electrically excited heating coils 21-24 are heating mainly the neighbour elements. Therefore, the elements can be heated and cooled in a short time, during which constant earth magnetism can be maintained. Data for compensation of temperature-depending characteristic (ratio of sensor's output value change to the element temperature change) are obtained on the basis of element temperatures before and after heating and output values of the magnetic sensor before and after heating.
EFFECT: compensation of thermal characteristics of magnetic sensor.
