FIELD: constructional engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to waterways, municipal engineering and agriculture, civil engineering, land development, ecology and field of activity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Method for preventing overflow includes arrangement, of tanks at a stage when snow starts to melt, on descents of streams and its feeders, in parallel with canals. Tanks made in snow are longitudinal and stepped. Steam-directed ravines are blocked with stepped snow barrages. Invention prevents from taking out of use of effective agricultural lands and provides reduction of overflow-protection measures cost.
EFFECT: development of effective method of overflow prevention of freshet flooding and reduction of overflow-protection measures cost.
