FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to running motor vehicle internal combustion engine exhaust silencers. The silencer incorporates a casing housing an expansion chamber with its end faces accommodating an inlet and outlet branch pipes separated into two high-frequency and low-frequency noise reduction zones. The said chamber incorporate also a perforated pipe interconnecting the aforesaid branch pipes, the perforated pipe inner surface hole edges are rounded off. A part of the said perforated pipe, in the high-frequency noise reduction, is wrapped around with a noise-absorbing material (basalt fiber). The expansion chamber end face supports a resonator representing a sleeve with its space communicating with the expansion chamber low-frequency noise reduction zone. The said rounded off edges and flanges make exhaust gases move regularly in the perforated pipe.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of noise absorption.
