FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method implies water purification by electric discharge radiation followed by exposure to chemically reactive particles and radicals generated by electric discharge within oxygen-containing gas filled gap between sectioned metal electrode and water surface. Water is premixed with oxygen-containing gas containing nitrogen, 50÷70% vl of oxygen and 3÷20% vl of argon, krypton or helium.
EFFECT: invention reduces power inputs of water treatment.
