FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: water is purified by mixed water and oxygen-containing gas exposed to electric barrier discharge. Oxygen-containing gas is purified, cooled and injected into water directly within discharge gap by dispersion through porous electrode of porosity, pore sizes and at oxygen-containing gas pressure, preset providing thin gas layer forms about porous electrode where electric barrier discharge is mainly generated.

EFFECT: invention reduces power inputs of water treatment.
