FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to contact coolers and, particularly to mechanical-draft towers design. It may used in chemical and power plants for cooling recycled water. Mechanical-draft tower contains rectangular in transverse section housing with water collecting windows in the lower part and installed on water collecting pool. In addition, water arrester, water distributing header with water spraying nozzles and sprayer represented with at least four identical blocks are situated in housing is serial arrangement and from top to bottom. Fan is mounted onto housing. It contains diffusion device in the form of convergent-divergent shell with paddle wheel mounted on it. Paddle wheel shaft is connected with rotary drive. Besides, water-distributing header is represented as horizontal gradually narrowing supply pipeline located in the lower part of housing over water collecting pool. The pipeline is connected with two horizontal water-distributing pipelines, which gradually and symmetrically narrow from the middle to the ends and are located along housing walls under water arrester, by means of two vertical supporting pipelines. Water distributing pipelines are interconnected by means of parallel and located at equal distance water delivering pipelines. They are gradually narrowed to pipe middle and provided with water-spraying nozzles located at adjacent, with regard to each other, water-delivering pipelines and as in staggered rows. In addition, water-delivering pipelines in their middle part and water-distributing pipeline in, at least, two locations equidistant from their middle part are suspended to transverse load-bearing beams laid across housing and above the said pipelines.

EFFECT: improvement of mechanical-draft tower operation effectiveness and weight and dimensional characteristics.
