FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: preventive measures involve creation of an artificial jamming located upstream of this jam hazardous site. The artificial jamming is made up by means of erecting a gate on the banks of the river that reduce the area of the flow section of the river channel. The artificial jamming is used to control ice discharge in its location by means of its repeated formation and subsequent destruction with intervals sufficient for a jam-free ice passing capacity of the river channel in this site.
EFFECT: efficient prevention of ice jamming and destructive floods in the jamming location.
