FIELD: technological processes, electricity.
SUBSTANCE: water-cooled case of electrode is made from strengthened copper. Working tip and thermo-compensating layer are made by the powder metallurgical technique by compaction and sintering with obtaining of a porous frame from metallised carbonyl tungsten grains of electro-melted zirconium dioxide, stabilised yttrium oxide 10-35%. The use of different pressure during the compaction provides the reception of different porosity of the working tip and a thermo-compensating layer. After subsequent impregnation of the frame with liquid copper in a vacuum 5×10-1 mm Hg is obtained a monolith with different content of copper in the working tip and the thermo-compensating layer. The similarity on conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion and the chemical composition of the material of the frame and thermo-compensating layer implements its buffer functions it and their monolithic bonds.
EFFECT: electrode possesses prolonged working resource and high electro-conductive properties of working tip with minimum use of tungsten.
