FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: kidneys are ultrasonically scanned in clinostasis and orthostasis positions. Kidney descending is determined when a patient changes horizontal position to vertical one. The angle of kidney rotation in sagittal plane is determined according to the difference of the angles between operating surface of a sensor of the ultrasonic scan and sagittal plane of patient's body, in the horizontal plane by the difference of the angles between the length of the operating surface of the ultrasonic scan sensor and horizontal plane of patient's body, in the frontal plane by the difference of the angles between direction of ultrasonic beams and frontal plane of patient's body. The sensor is fixed so that the longitudinal section of kidney corresponded to its maximum and minimum length and width is displayed on the screen.
EFFECT: method allows enhancing diagnostic informativeness of ultrasonic examination of kidney, detecting disease in early stages, and gives opportunity of screening examination of patients.
