FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present method refers to evaluation of the volume of the segment of the eyeball located inside the orbital cavity of the sick eye and of the volume of the segment located outside the cavity of the healthy eye prior to removal of the eyeball. After that the volume of the implant is calculated from the expression Vu =V1+V2-Vn, where Vu is the volume of the orbital implant; V1 is the volume of the segment of the eyeball located inside the orbital cavity of the sick eye; V2 is the volume of the segment of the eyeball, located outside orbital cavity of the healthy eye; Vn is the volume of the eye prosthesis.
EFFECT: creation of conditions for proper ophthalmic prosthetics and consecutive improvement of cosmetic result.
