FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed is method of obtaining active coal, including carbonisation of fruit stone and/or nut shell without air access, activation by water vapour, cooling and isolation of required fraction, carbonisation being carried out at 450-500°C, activation - at 850-900°C until porous structure, characterised by ratio of micropore volume to total pore volume equal to (0.4÷0.5):1, is obtained, and after cooling product is subjected to grinding until particle size is less than 100 micron, grinding being carried out in ball mill with ratio of grinding space to balls volume equal 1:(0.4÷0.6).
EFFECT: obtaining coal for drinkable water purification from low-molecular and high-molecular harmful admixtures.
