FIELD: chemical industry and medicine. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method and technology of production of active charcoal on the basis of polymeric materials with a filler. It may be used in medicine at production of enterosorbent for sorption of toxins and removal of a radioiodine from an organism, and also for purifying gases and vapors. The method of production of the activated carbon from phenolformaldehyde pitch with a fabric filler - a textolite provides for its carbonization in the temperatures interval of 140- 600 C, realized with the temperature rising speed of 20-40 C/hour with ageing under the room temperature within 1-3 hours, crushing of the carbonized stuff up to particle size of 0.5-3.0 mm, the steam-and-gas activation of these particles up to the bulk volume of pores of 0.60-1.0 cm cu/g. The method allows to produce strong low-ash active carbons (coals) ensuring a fine purification of blood from cyanocobalamin and big capacity at molecules of a radioiodine, and also high performance hydrocarbons for purification of drinking water from phenols and other impurities. EFFECT: method allows to produce strong low-ash active carbons (coals). 2 tbl, 3 ex
