FIELD: physics; radio.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to radio-measuring techniques and can be used as a high-frequency device for measuring instantaneous frequency of radio signals in wideband communication systems, position finding and radio interception. The technical outcome of the invention is reduced dimensions, simplification of the structure and increased efficiency of the device. The acoustic device for measuring frequency of radio signals comprises an input acoustic surface wave converter, crystalline acoustic line, output converter unit and a recording system, connected to the output converter unit. The surface of the crystalline acoustic line between the input acoustic wave converter and the unit of output acoustic surface wave converters is covered by a film of material, with shearing modulus of elasticity less than that of the material of the acoustic line, with thickness of not less than λ/20, where λ is the wavelength of the acoustic surface waves. The length L of the film and width W of the output converters is chosen from the condition where Δθ=θ1-θn, θ1, θn are deviation angles of the group velocity from the phase velocity for the extreme frequencies of the operation range. The output converters' unit is in form of a set of converters, arranged at the boundaries of the sector with angle Δθ. The converters are interdigital.
EFFECT: smaller dimensions, simpler structure and increased efficiency.
