FIELD: chemistry; distillation industry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to ethanol production. The method involves obtaining ethanol through boiling out alcohol from brew in a distillation column with conversion of ethanol and attendant impurities to wash distillate with vapour from that column, cleaning the wash distillate from parent and intermediate impurities, including fusel oil in the fractionating column, operating on hydro-selection. Fractional distillation of the epurate is carried out in an alcohol column with tapping off of the fusel oil, fusel alcohol and unpasteurised alcohol fractions. The parent and intermediate impurities of the ethanol are distilled in a fractional column. Further purification of alcohol from parent impurities and methanol is carried out in a concentration column of parent impurities. Ethanol is further purified from organic acids and other tail impurities by tapping off distilled water from the boiler of the fractional column. The ethanol fraction is taken from the liquid phase of plates in the middle zone of the extraction part of the fractional column and partially directed to the fusel column for further purification from intermediate impurities, and partially returned to the initial brew. The fractions of fusel alcohol, fusel oil of the alcohol column and the sub-fusel layer of the decantation tank are separated in the fusel oil concentrating column. Unpastereurised alcohol, a fraction from alcohol-traps of pure distillate, a fraction from the condenser of the fusel-oil concentrating column and part of the fraction from the condenser of the fractionating column are directed to the feed tray of the column for concentrating parent impurities. The concentrate of parent impurities is taken from the condenser of the given column, and from its vat section, a fraction is extracted and directed to the feed tray of the alcohol column or transfer tank.

EFFECT: improved quality of alcohol and increased alcohol output.
