SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely obstetrics. To perform prognosis method for gestosis development in obese women during first trimester of pregnancy, blood serum amino-acid profile of the pregnant is examined, essential amino acids level, arginine and methionine, is determined, and woman's birth weight is revealed. Based on the data obtained, diagnostic index S is determined by formula: S=0.54*X1+0.08*X2+0.04*X3-4.46, where X1 is woman's birth weight (kg), X2 is methionine level (mmol/l), X3 is arginine level (mmol/l). If S value is above 0, low probability of gestosis development is diagnosed; if S value is between 0 and -0.6, medium risk of gestosis development is diagnosed; and if S value is below -0.6, gestosis development risk is high.

EFFECT: conducting pre-clinical diagnostics of gestosis development probability in obese women on their first trimester, and timely plan individual tactics of pregnancy management and required preventive measures.
