PLUG AND SOCKET JOINT Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H01R13/62 H01R13/11 

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: joint contains plug with contact pins or plates and socket with female contacts. The socket comprises: slider (6) capable to open female contacts for free passing of pins or closing these contacts for tight pins gripping, lever for slider (15) moving, latch (8) capable to hold slider in such position that contact pins or plates of plug (11) are freely inserted into female contacts, latch triggering button (14) in the middle between female contacts in the area of socket contact pins entering. Socket slider is made as frame with grid of plates passing between rows of female contacts (5). Female contacts (3) are made as clamps of elastic material and have shape allowing fitting snugly contact pins or plates. Some of clamp ends are fixed in unmoving part of socket (7) and the other ends (2) are capable to move to enlarge openings in female contacts seizing parts to size letting contact pins or plates to pass freely or to reduce openings to size letting female contacts to fit snugly contact pins or plates. The second clamp ends have projections (1) located in corresponding grooves in slider grid plates. These projections are capable to shift the slider and clamp contact pins or plates when the latch is opened.

EFFECT: contact improvement, simplification and increase in compactness of design.
