METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF FUNNELED DEFORMATIONS OF THORAX Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine; orthopedy and traumatology.

SUBSTANCE: essence of the way consists in osteotomy of breast bone with excising of wedge by the basis to front in its cross-section part in a place of transition of deformation in not changed part of breast bone, cutting off of xiphoid process and restoration of deformation of a breast bone. Thus from both parties of thorax on axillary lines in projection of the most deformed cartilages of ribs make on one cut of skin. From each under and above cartilage cut carry out a window-linear osteotomy at height of deformation, and at the same height in the middle of ribs on all length of deformation do the odd number, not less than three via openings. One of the openings is placed at deformation top, and the others - symmetrically concerning this opening. Bridge all apertures through saw cuts, thus carry out saw cuts from each extreme opening to perpendicularly edge of a rib and in the sides opposite from each other.

EFFECT: reduction of traumatical effects and reduction of terms of aftertreatment, rising of reliability of bracing with correction possibility.
