FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and aims at pectus excavatum surgical management. Substance of the method consists in ultrasound detection of the affected costal cartilages to be resected, subperiosteal cuneiform sternotomy and titanium plating of the breast bone. The US detection of the affected costal cartilages is performed on the anterior chest wall starting from the II costal cartilage to the right. Then in a projection of osteocartilaginous synchondrosis of a costal cartilage with a hyperechoic zone, skin incision of 2-3 mm is followed by the ultrasound-aided dissection of the costal cartilage within said pathological hyperechoic zone with using an ultrasonic scalpel. Further, a sensor is pulled down on the III costal cartilage to repeat the resection with the VII costal cartilage included. Similarly, the sensor runs on the left side. The skin mini-incisions are protected with adhesive strips.

EFFECT: use of the given invention allows for the resection of pathologically changed segment of the costal cartilages with the minimum skin damage, and also for the prevention of early and late postoperative complications.
