FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns metal welding and can be applied in manufacturing of high-rate capacitance constructions. Pressure vessel includes external non-metal shell and sealed internal metal shell, root part of weld joint of which has form of thickened area with width equal to 1.0÷4.0 of main material width, thickened area size is equal to 0.05÷0.5 of main material width, and angle of base generating line slant is selected within 5÷45°. Method of friction welding with mixing of metal shell blank material of the pressure vessel involves putting blanks together tightly along their connection line on a metal substrate with groove against welded joint; placing of rotation welding tool to the start point of junction and moving of welding tool along welded blank joint to obtain weld seam; making of trapeziform groove shaping root part of weld joint. Groove bottom width is more than work rod diametre of welding tool but less or equal to supporting collar diametre of welding tool and to 1.0÷4.0 of main material width, groove depth is equal to thickened area size, which is 0.05÷0.5 of main material width, generating line angle is selected within 5÷45°, and work rod end of welding tool is set at 0.05÷0.15 mm distance from the groove bottom. Method of obtaining specified cross-section in root part of metal shell weld joint of pressure vessel involves friction welding by rotation tool with application of axial pressure to the welding tool and shifting of plasticised material of welded blanks to the root part of weld joint on metal substrate with a groove of specified profile defining the shape of specified root section part.

EFFECT: obtaining weld joint with homogeneous durability.
